Ragtag Film Society’s second-annual film series fund-raiser “CoMo Famous” has kicked off.
The series features five prominent Columbians who each pick a movie to screen during the series. The five compete to raise the most funds for the film society.
This year, all films will be screened outdoors to protect the safety and health of the guests.
Ragtag Film Society’s Stacie Pottinger says the pandemic affects how Ragtag operates, but the film society is adapting to this new world.
“The industry has been hit incredibly hard this year, and we’re bringing in 1 or 2 percent of what our normal profits are at this time,” Pottinger said.
Funds also help support the film society’s community outreach, such as its education programs with local high schoolers.
